India’s rise is one certainty in an increasingly uncertain world. Nobody is willing to bet against India getting richer, stronger and smarter despite the prevalent anxieties about the global economy, geopolitics, and climate change. Indian economy is maintaining a high growth rate and is set to become the 3rd largest in the world within the next few years. Moreover, India is committed to becoming a rich and technologically advanced country by 2047 while reducing the carbon intensity of its growth. India is front-running digital and green technology adoption and it is building both the conventional and the digital infrastructure­­ to spark productivity, innovation and entrepreneurship in its predominantly young population. However, the most important yardstick of success for the next India is becoming the home of choice for the world’s top investors, entrepreneurs, innovators, professionals and students. The next India’s leadership must find ways to create an enabling environment for high capital and labour productivity, new knowledge creation and original innovation, domestic and international concord, social and environmental wellbeing, and a competitive quality of life. The next India must set the global standards for growth, innovation and responsibility.
